Hokura Shrine is easily accessible from Kobe city and is loved by tourists and locals alike. Below, we will explain in detail how to get there from the nearest station, parking, and the approach to the shrine.

3.1 Directions from Okamoto Station
The nearest station to Hokura Shrine is Okamoto Station on the Hankyu Kobe Line. It’s about a 20-25-minute walk from the station to the shrine, passing through a well-maintained residential area before eventually entering a lush mountain path.

1.Exit Okamoto Station’s south exit and head north toward the mountain.
2.Pass through the Okamoto Shopping Arcade, lined with stylish cafes and general stores, and continue through the residential area.
3.There are several “Hokura Shrine →” signs along the way, so it’s easy to get lost.
4.At the end, climb a slightly steep slope and you’ll see the shrine’s torii gate.

Another great feature of the access from the station is that it can be enjoyed as a combination of a stroll around the city and a light hike.

3.2 Nearby Parking Information and Access Notes
Hokura Shrine does not have its own parking lot. Therefore, if you’re visiting by car, you’ll need to use one of the nearby coin parking lots.

Please note that the roads around the shrine are very narrow, and as it is a residential area, driving is not recommended. We recommend parking near Okamoto Station and visiting on foot.

One of the attractions of Hokura Shrine is its approach, which offers a slightly mountain-climbing feel. While the path from the station to the shrine is paved, the final section of the approach is made up of stone steps and slopes that lead through nature, creating a soothing experience similar to forest bathing.
